Herb gardening is not much difficult and tricky as growing flowers in your garden. They are basically wild plants and hence do not require much care. It does not require much space as well. There are many flowering herbs that have medicinal use. The herbs used in cooking are known as kitchen herbs. You can even plant herb garden in your balcony or kitchen in small containers. Basil is the common garden herb that can be used in sandwiches and salads.

For the culinary lovers, fresh herbs are always important. Many herbs have remedial use. Turmeric is the best healing herb. It can be used internally as well as externally. Turmeric is the best antiseptic that can be applied on the wound. It can also be taken with cold milk for healing the wound quickly. When you are planting the herbs in your garden, make sure to make necessary preparations before cultivation of herbs. Soil PreparationSoil preparation is the most vital thing for herb gardening. To plant healthy herbs, the garden soil must be rich with nutrient contents, fertile, deep and easy to work. Good garden soil is not easy to find. You can make your garden suitable to match your plant requirements. Herbs are the plants that grow wild. Hence, they can grow in wide range of soil types. Also, for better results, it is important to choose the plants that are best suitable for growing in your area’s soil type. Selecting the Garden Location:Herbs are generally sun loving plants.

Hence, it is important that the location you select should receive full sunlight for maximum time of the day. Herbs that thrive well in shady condition can be planted in shade. Planting the Herbs in Your Garden:You can plant the herbs in the smallest available space in your flower garden. If you don’t have flower garden, you can plant the herbs in your balcony in pots or containers. Doing this you have the option to move the herbs in sunlight during day hours. Dig the soil and plant the herb seeds. Blend these seeds with natural compost, mulch and little herbicide. Compost will increase the nutrient content in the soil around the planted area. Mulch will help to avoid the growth of weeds and herbicide will protect the seed from the attack of rodents. Cultivation of Herbs:After planting the herbs and growing it completely, it is equally important to cultivate these herbs on time. It they are not cultivated, they may consume entire plant energy and plant growth is thus restricted. Your herb garden will be the source of fragrance, spices, medicines, etc. You can plant the useful herbs in your garden and use them whenever required
